NYC subway lines
New Yorkers say "the 1 train" or "the A train". Lines with the same color share tracks in Manhattan; some run local and stop everywhere, others run express and skip stops.
Getting to the airports by subway
JFK. Take the A train to Howard Beach-JFK Airport, or the E, J or Z to Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport. Then ride the AirTrain to your terminal. The AirTrain charges its own fare.
LaGuardia. There is no subway to the airport. Take the 7, E, F, M or R to Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av, or the 7 to 61 St-Woodside, and connect to the Q70 LaGuardia Link bus.
Newark (EWR). Take the subway to 34 St-Penn Station and switch to an NJ Transit or Amtrak train to Newark Airport station, then the AirTrain Newark.
Fares and connections can change. Check the airport and MTA websites before you travel.
